Student volunteers awarded scholarshipsThe Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital Volunteers have awarded scholarships to three student volunteers. The scholarships were awarded during the Volunteers recent annual installation luncheon.

Scholarships were awarded to Ivanna Berrio of Kingwood, Eric Kuo of Atascocita, and Shelby Tse, also of Atascocita.

Ivanna Berrio, the daughter of Jhon Jarro and Tatiana Berrio of Kingwood, has been a Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital Student Volunteer since 2009 and accumulated 150 volunteer hours working in Cardiopulmonary, Environmental Services, and the Volunteer Office. She is a graduate of Kingwood High School and is attending Lone Star College-Kingwood pursuing a career in event management.

Eric Kuo, the son of Chi-I Kuo and Hsiu-Jane Lin of Atascocita, has volunteered at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital since 2008 and accumulated 225.5 hours volunteering in Cardiopulmonary, Emergency Center, Sterile Processing and the Cancer Center. He is a graduate of Atascocita High School and will attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he will major in Electrical Engineering.

Shelby Tse, the son of Glenn and Conita Tse of Atascocita, has volunteered at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital since 2008 and has accumulated 214.5 hours volunteering in Food Service, Security, Endoscopy, Environmental Services, Sterile Processing and the Emergency Center. He is a graduate of Atascocita High School and will attend the University of Texas at Austin majoring in Biology.

More than 80 students from throughout the Humble area will volunteer this summer at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital.

These Teen Volunteer scholarship recipients from Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital have, together, volunteered almost 600 hours in 11 different Hospital departments in the three years they have served. They are, from left, Eric Kuo, Shelby Tse and Ivanna Berrio.
