HUMBLE, TEXAS (October 10, 2014)

The October meeting of Stroke Support Group at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital will focus on potential interactions with herbal, over-the-counter, and prescription medications.

Pharmacy representatives will be on-hand to review participants’ medication lists and the potential for drug interactions. Attendees are encouraged to bring their medications list with them.

Usually the last Wednesday of every even month, the Stroke Support Group will meet Wednesday, Oct. 29, 12:30 p.m. in classrooms located at the West Entrance on the McKay side of the hospital.

According to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, stroke is one of the leading causes of death and serious, long-term disability in the United States. The Stroke Support Group is free and open to all stroke survivors, those who care for stroke survivors, and those who would like additional information about surviving a stroke. Participants hear from experts in the field of stroke treatment and prevention, and may share their experiences.

Refreshments will be served. Participants are asked to register by calling 713.222.CARE (2273).
