SUGAR LAND, TEXAS (December 28, 2015)

The Memorial Hermann USA Fit Marathon is around the corner, but there is still time to register and run. The event is known as “Everyone’s Marathon” because it encourages all athletes, no matter their run pace, to participate and enjoy the race experience.

Medical staff from Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital will provide medical support to participants. “Memorial Hermann Sugar Land is committed to promoting fitness and a healthy lifestyle for everyone,” says Steven Ramirez, sports medicine coordinator, Memorial Hermann Sugar Land. “This is the perfect event for a first time marathon runner as participants of all levels are welcome to attend.”

The race is scheduled for Saturday, January 31, and will start and finish at the University of Houston, Sugar Land campus, 14000 University Blvd., Sugar Land, TX 77479.

In addition to the full marathon, a half marathon and family friendly 5K are also available for those not quite ready to commit to a 26.2 mile race.

“This event has grown now to include a half marathon and also a family friendly 5K,” says Terrie Gorney, race director, USA Fit Marathon. “Our goal is to promote a healthy lifestyle through exercise and education and Memorial Hermann plays a big role in helping us meet that goal.”
