HOUSTON (March 13, 2013)

Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center is proud to announce Raelyna Nunley as the 2012 Volunteer of the Year.

After joining the volunteer team in April 2012, Nunley has positively impacted the hospital, serving nearly 500 hours in the past year. While maintaining her responsibilities as a full-time nursing student, Nunley plays a vital role at the Texas Trauma Institute's Emergency Department and Shock Trauma Intensive Care Unit. Working side-by-side with the volunteer services team, Nunley streamlines volunteer processes to better increase the hospital's overall efficiency.

A natural people-person, Nunley eagerly assists with volunteer training, making the new volunteers feel welcome and important to Memorial Hermann-TMC's volunteer team. When she's not in fellowship with other volunteers, she is helping meet the needs of the hospital staff and patients. "Rae's hard work and commitment to Memorial Hermann-TMC are greatly appreciated by all that know her," says Anne Saner Crocker, a coordinator of volunteer services at Memorial Hermann-TMC. "We are confident that Rae's passion for helping others will only continue to grow stronger and shine brighter in her future as a nurse." Nunley plans to begin her nursing career at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in May.

Sarah Trainer, a coordinator of volunteer services at Memorial Hermann - TMC, says, "We recognize and honor Rae for her outstanding dedication and support she has graciously shown our staff and patients this past year."
