Memorial Hermann Health System has named three new leaders of hospitals in southeast Houston, Pearland, Cypress, Katy, The Woodlands and Humble.
These promotions are part of a new organizational structure and service line operating model that align with Memorial Hermann’s vision to create healthier communities now and for generations to come. All three replace longtime Memorial Hermann leaders who transitioned into new roles to support the service line model earlier in the summer.

Callender. “All three of these individuals have been outstanding and effective leaders in our health system for a number of years, and we are pleased they have each accepted the opportunity to continue growing their careers with Memorial Hermann.”
Cardenas currently serves as Vice President of Operations for Memorial Hermann Northeast in Humble, an acute care hospital consisting of 242 beds and more than 1,200 employees. Ashworth is the Senior Vice President and CEO of TIRR Memorial Hermann, ranked No. 3 among the country’s top rehabilitation hospitals in the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospital rankings for 2020-2021, as well as Memorial Hermann Katy Rehabilitation Hospital. Both will assume their new roles on Sept. 13. Kendrick, who during his nine-year tenure with Memorial Hermann has served as Vice President of Operations at both the Memorial Hermann The Woodlands and Memorial Hermann-TMC campuses, took over his new position on Aug. 17.
