HOUSTON (October 14, 2015)

Greater Heights CCCMemorial Hermann has announced plans to build its eighth convenient care center and first inside the 610 loop. The 44,000-square-foot Memorial Hermann Central Convenient Care Center in The Heights at I-10 and Studemont is expected to be completed in summer 2017 and will join Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital in serving the area.

The two-story Convenient Care Center will provide one-stop, highly-coordinated access to adult and pediatric primary care, specialty physicians, sports medicine and rehabilitation, outpatient imaging and lab services, and a 24-hour emergency room.

“Our network of Convenient Care Centers has provided safe, high-quality medical care that is easily accessible in the communities we serve,” said Jim Brown, Sr. Vice President and CEO of ambulatory services at Memorial Hermann. “We want to offer expert medical care at the appropriate levels throughout the greater Houston area. We look forward to bringing this model of care to the heart of our city.”

Memorial Hermann Convenient Care Centers are designed to take the stress out of scheduling appointments for routine health needs by offering families options such as walk-in access and extended evening and weekend hours with access to an emergency room, if needed.

“Residents of the Greater Heights, downtown Houston and the surrounding area will have access to comprehensive round-the-clock medical care at our new Convenient Care Center,” said Susan Jadlowski, Sr. Vice President and CEO at Memorial Hermann Greater Heights. “This new facility will address a number of healthcare needs for residents in the area and provide one more point of access to expert medical care.”

The Convenient Care Center is modeled after sister facilities that are operational in Summer Creek, Pearland, South Katy and Sienna Plantation, and facilities currently or soon to be under construction in Cypress, Spring and Kingwood. Patients at the Convenient Care Center who need a higher level of care could be transferred to Memorial Hermann Greater Heights, Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center or Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital.

The Convenient Care Center will be located 5.2 miles from the Memorial Hermann Greater Heights campus and 5.7 miles from the Memorial Hermann-TMC campus.

Construction of the Convenient Care Center in the Heights is part of Memorial Hermann’s strategic growth initiative – Breaking New Ground – designed to meet current and future healthcare needs in the greater Houston region. The initiative also includes the construction of a medical campus in Pearland and Cypress, and multi-million dollar expansions at Memorial Hermann-TMC, Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital and Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital.
