PEARLAND, TEXAS (August 10, 2016)

Former NFL players visiting Memorial Hermann PearlandAre you ready for some football? Patients and staff at Memorial Hermann Pearland Hospital were able to get an early start on the season recently when a group of former National Football League (NFL) players – now members of the NFL Players Association Former Players Houston chapter – visited the hospital to offer encouragement and take a few pictures with patients and staff.

“As former professional athletes these guys know a little something about injuries and recovery and it was great to see them offer encouragement and interact with our patients,” says Shane Crisp, Chief Operations Officer, Memorial Hermann Pearland Hospital. “We want to provide our patients with a warm, healing environment every day and some smiles and simple words of encouragement from special visitors go a long way toward helping our patients.”

Former players Jermaine Fazande, Michael Hicks, Todd McArthur and Joseph Wesley walked the halls stopping to talk with patients and staff along the way. “These are the same people who supported us when we were on the field and it means a lot to be able to offer them encouragement,” said Joseph Wesley, president, NFL Players Association Former Players Houston Chapter. “We really had a great day and can’t wait to come back again.”

Memorial Hermann Pearland opened its doors in March 2016. The 64-bed hospital offers a number of high-quality services and specialties, including orthopedics and sports medicine, neurology, general surgery, heart and vascular, labor and delivery, gastroenterology and urology.

Memorial Hermann Pearland is located at 16100 South Freeway on the southbound side of Highway 288 near FM 518.
