Continuing Medical Education (CME) Course Objectives

At the conclusion of this symposium, the participant should be able to:

  • Define the maternal and fetal inclusion criteria for candidates for in utero repair of spina bifida
  • Effectively evaluate the monochorionic twin gestation for twin-twin transfusion in order to make a proper referral for laser therapy
  • Evaluate new DNA technologies in the management of the red cell alloimmunized pregnancy and incorporate these methodologies into clinical care
  • Describe the clinical criteria for candidates for tracheal occlusion for fetuses with diaphragmatic hernia
  • Define the clinical criteria and current applications for Ex-utero Intrapartum Treatment (EXIT) strategies
  • Define the clinical criteria for congenital heart disease, surgical treatment of single ventricle cardiac lesions and follow up care for cardiac patient through adulthood and pregnancy
