Children’s Heart Institute has earned a distinguished three-star rating from The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) for its patient care and outcomes in congenital heart surgery. The three-star rating, which denotes the highest category of quality, places the Children’s Heart Institute among the elite for congenital heart surgery programs in the United States and Canada.
With the Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and a dedicated pediatric Children’s Heart Institute Intensive Care Unit (CHI-ICU) at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, critical pediatric heart patients have access to the highest level of specialized care.
