Pediatric Hepatology

Improvement in Hepatic Function and Histology with Increased Serum a-tocopheral Level in Children with Biopsy-Proven NSAH Treated with Oral Vitamin E

This retrospective study includes all patients younger than 18 years old seen at the Texas Liver Center from February 1, 2002, through May 31, 2009, who had biopsy-proven nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). NASH is a common, often silent liver disease that resembles alcoholic liver disease but occurs in people who drink little alcohol. Data being reviewed was collected as part of the routine medical evaluation of patients.
