Colic is defined as crying or fussiness for more than three hours daily for more than three days weekly in a child less than three months old. Currently, there is not enough evidence to support the effectiveness of any treatment to relieve colic; however, there is evidence that infants with colic produce too much hydrogen gas in the intestine. This study aims to determine if treatment of babies with a bacteria called Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG will improve colic in infants and to see if colic is caused by abnormal bacteria in the large intestine.
